Robert Frank Gainey, 64 of 338 North West Street, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday September 28, 2026.

Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated. Services are incomplete at this time, details will be announced by Stonegate Funeral Service & Cremation.

Robert was born in Rochefort, Frances on Febrruary 7, 1962 to the late Bobby George Gainey and Jeanne LeGoff Gainey. He was a factory worker for DuBose Steel.

He was a fun-loving man who enjoyed making memories and lving life to the fullest. He had a special love for country line dancing, where he could enjoy good music, good company and plenty of laughter. He also loved fishing and cherished the peace and relaxation that came with spending time outdoors.

A true sports fan, he enjoyed watching football and proudly cheered on his beloved NC State Wolfpack and Washington Redskins. His love of sports began at an early age, as he played both baseball and soccer during his high school years. Whether he was watching a game, casting a fishing line, or out on the dance floor, he found joy in the simple things that made life special. 

He will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his sense of fun, and the many wonderful memories he created throughtout his life. His laughter, stories, and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are, his sisters: Christine Gainey of Autryville, NC and Josy Hughes of Riverside, CA; his nieces: Erin Hughes of Anniheim, CA, Kaitlyn Hughes of Riverside, CA, and Alyssa Rathjen of Bloomington, NE; his cargiver: Lisa Waters of Autryville, NC and a host of many friends.
