Obituary

Jonathan McLamb, 61 of 11 Lyman Road, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated. Service details will be announced by StoneGate Funeral Service & Cremation.

Jonathan was born on May 9, 1965, in Mecklenburg County to the late Mark McLamb and Mary Ann Ransom. He was a hardworking and free-spirited man who found joy in doing what he loved and living life in his own unique way. A skilled carpenter by trade, he took great pride in his work and truly loved what he did. He had a talent for working with his hands and found satisfaction in creating something meaningful through his craftsmanship.

When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hiking and exploring the beauty of nature. Music was another passion that held a special place in his heart. A devoted Grateful Dead fan, he appreciated the spirit and sound of their music, along with his love for bluegrass and the Mandolin. Music brought him happiness and was a part of the life he so thoroughly enjoyed.

Above all, he was a devoted son who deeply loved his mother. Their bond was special, and he treasured the relationship they shared.

He was also part of the 12-step fellowship, which became an important part of his life. He found great purpose in supporting and encouraging others who were facing the challenges of substance abuse. He understood the importance of fellowship, compassion, and having someone who would walk alongside you through difficult times. He was always willing to offer support, encouragement, and a listening ear to those who needed it. Helping others along their journey was one of the meaningful ways he touched lives.

He will be remembered for his love of carpentry, his adventurous spirit, his appreciation for music, and, most importantly, the compassion he showed others. His life was filled with passions, meaningful connections, and a desire to make a difference. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
