Ines Figueroa 60, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2026, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Her unexpected passing has left a profound sadness in the hearts of her family adn all who knew and loved her.
Ines was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. She later made her home in Vineland, New Jersey, before moving to North Carolina, where she spent many years of her life. No matter where life took her, family remained an important part of who she was.
Ines was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren in North Carolina. Their time together brought her great happiness, and the memories they created together will remain a cherished part of their lives. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed being surrounded by the people she loved.
Ines had a love for the simle pleasures in life. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing, gardening, cooking, and completing word searches. She also enjoyed spending quiet moments sitting on her porch, taking in the day and enjoying the comforts of home. These simple moments reflected her appreciation for the things that brought peace, happiness and connection to her life.
One of Ines' greatest joys was her beloved dog, Lola Marie, whom she loved dearly. Lola was much more than a pet; she was Ines' cherished companion and an important part of her everyday life. The love and companionship they shared brought her comfort and happiness.
Ines will be lovingly remembered by her three brothers, Francisco, Samuel, and Luis; her children, Maria (Jose), Glorimar Margarita (Favian), Eilsel, Leslie, and Francis Garcia; her grandchildren, Amanda, Desiree, Skylynn, Caleb, Daniel, Dayanna, Jonathan, Nayeli, Kaylynn, Margarita, Javier, Analenni, Michael, Mark, Matthew, Jadien, and Emilio; and three great-grandchildren, Catalina, Christian, and Braxton.
She was predeceased by her parents, Alejandro and Carmen; her sister, Maria; and most recently, her brother, Lionel.
Though Ines' life was unexpectedly cut short, the love she gave and the memories she created will continue through the family she leaves behind. Her laughter, her love of music and dancing, her caring heart, and the moments shared with those closest to her will never be forgotten.
Ines will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, brothers, extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry her love in their hearts. May she rest peacefully, surrounded by the love of those who will forever remember her.
