Elma Dale Hall, 71 of Lynn Lane passed away Saturday Septmeber 26, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The family is honoring her wishes for cremation. There are no service plans at this time, details will announced by Stonegate Funeral Service and Cremation.

Elma was born in Wayne County on May 28, 1955 to Geraldine and the late Wily Lancaster. She was a caring and compassionate woman who dedicated her career to nursing. Through her work, she had the oppotunity to care for others and make a difference in the lives of those around her. Her kind heartand caring spirit were evident not only in her profession, but in the way she lived her life. 

Outside of her work, she enjoyed the things that brought her happiness and allowed her to relax. She was an avid WWE wrestling fan and never missed the excitement of watching her favorite matches. She also loved getting lost in a good book and looked forward to spending time at the beach, where she could enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the ocean.

She will be remembered for the caring heart, her love of reading and wrestling, her apprecation for the beach, and the many lives she touched throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the priviledge of knowing her.

Along with her father, Elma is preceded in death by her husband Leon Hall, brother: Dwight Oakley, daughter: Teresa Newsome, and grandson: Ryan Sauls.

Left to Cherish her memory are her daughter: Miranda Vanderpool (Richard) of Fayettvillie, NC; siblings: Danny Lancaster of Princeton, NC, Doug Lancaster of Goldsboro, NC, Debbie Head of NC, Karen Lancaster of NC, Freida Capp of NC, Steve Gurganus of NC; grandchildren: Jacob Vanderpool, Joseph Newsome, John David Newsome, Dolly Newsome, Nicholas Blow; Great Grandchildren: Chandler Terrell, Zelphea Newsome, Thatcher Newsome.
